SUStars MDS Blog Hop

Well, I decided to go out side my comfort zone and try a blog hop featuring Stampin Up's My Digital Studio. You can download it here for a free 30 day trial here. Weren't her ideas creative?  The members of SU Stars are sooooo talented!

OK, enough of the sales pitch. I have owned My Digital Studio since shortly after I became a demonstrator back in 2010.  This year I have vowed I am going to learn how to use it and use it some what regularly.  It is really easy to do but I never seem to use it.  I guess I am always afraid of not doing it right.  I don't know why, it's a computer screen that will delete anything I don't like.  It's not like I am wasting paper trying to come up with a design.

 Here is a scrapbook page of my husband and myself - my mom took a photo of us while our family was waiting to see Santa Claus.

I didn't journal anything but December 2011.  I happen to know Santa very well, and had not seen him in about 15 years.  So this particular day, I straightened my hair, did my make up, etc all to see Santa. (Crazy I know, but there are some people you just can't see with the "I just got outta bed" look.)

I used the Christmas Jingle designer page.  Super simple, all I had to do was add the photo.  How much easier can scrapbooking get???

The next page was a little harder for me.  Not in the actual technical sense off adding items; but deciding which items I wanted to use.  I did know I wanted to use the FREE Sale-a-Bration disc.  It has tons of options for paper.  I tried every dsp on the disc before I finally settle on one of them.  Then to use a brad or a ribbon.  I mean really-how is a girl to decide???  At first I just had the matted photos of my daughter.  I liked it that way, but I figured it really needed some journaling of some sort. I really didn't know what to say and the paper is so pretty I just decide to add a punch with some shadow and add the word Dance since it is obviously from my daughters dance recital.  I think I am in trouble already, doesn't she look like a little diva? I know what you're thinking-"Ummm Stace, you blurred her face out LOL."  Trust me-I'm in trouble!

FREE My Digital Studio-Training

Did you take advantage of the FREE My Digital Studio yet?  Awesome isn't it?!?!  Well, I wanted to share some more information with you. 

Stampin Up never leaves you with products that once you get them home, you won't remember how to use them.  Not only do you have your demonstrator (that's me!) to ask how something works.  Stampin Up also has online videos that you can watch.  That way when you are scrapbooking or card making in the middle of the night, you won't have to wait for me to drag my butt outta bed in the morning LOL.  Check out the videos Stampin Up has for MDS right here. There is something for every level of getting to know your My Digital Studio program.  So don't be afraid to try it.  I promise you will be able to use it.

Cute Litte Blog

Did anyone notice my blog design changed today?  Isn't that redhead just the cutest little thing with her card and computer?  If there was a huge mess all around her-it would look like me! (sort of)

I found Lena on the web purely by accident.  I found a blog template she designed and I thought it was really cute.  Once we got started it took her no time at all to come up with this little cutie making cards and scapbook pages.  There isn't any mess on her desk like mine so she must be using My Digital Studio by Stampin Up!

My "My Digital Studio" Class with Ellen Kemper/Bay Festival

Once again I have taken an online class with VC Rocks.  I have taken two classes using My Digital Studio with Ellen Kemper.  Her basic class had covered items I didn't know about....(big surprise there).

Then she had a second class and this time I wrote things down!!! Immediately I went to play since half the time, when I read my notes later, I don't remember what the heck they mean.  So here is what I played with.

Nothing overly fancy, but I used the alignment keys, punch options and filling them with photos. etc.  In the middle of practicing my daughter came along and wanted to know why I wasn't using a photo of her.  So of course I changed the photo I was using, then the paper I was using, blah, blah, blah.  Anything to keep her from talking when I am trying to concentrate.  (Too bad DHS frowns upon duct tape--just kidding-but I swear the only time she is quiet is when she is sleeping!)

If you come to the Bucksport Bay Festival today, I's sure she'll talk your ear off.  I will be just to the side of the Fort Knox Park Inn-the right hand side if you are standing on Main St. facing the hotel.

MDS and My Mom's Photo

I'm still playing with My Digital Studio.  This is one of my favorite photos that my mother has taken (you can email her at annettehoodphotos@yahoo.com).  She takes awesome photos, especially of her garden.  She has some awesome humming bird photos too.

Anyhow, I am basically learning to not only scrapbook but digital scrapbook.  MDS makes it sooooo easy!  Even I can do it, and if you only knew how NOT computer literate I am....

I hope she likes it.
