Build A Bear

I don't have too much to post.  I have been cutting out Build A Bears for the Bucksport Bay Festival.  Now I need to cut 210 outfits for them. Many shades of brown and multiple colors.  I really hope the children enjoy making their own Build A Bear.

VC Rocks Blog Hop II, 2011

Thanks for joining VC Rocks second bloghop of 2011.  You probably joined me from Kim Overholt.  For a complete listing of all the participants start here.

Here is a card I made with a triple purpose.  I knew I wanted to join VC Rocks bloghop which this month is featuring the Big Shot (my favorite tool).  Also my best friends son, who is in Cub Scouts, was crossing over from Wolf to Bear. Finally,  it was also his birthday.  We also bought him a real Build a Bear with a Scout outfit with shorts & hiking boots-part of the inspiration for the card as well. (Wish I thought to have taken a picture of that as well.  My daughter named the bear Scout LOL)

I used the Build A Bear die and the Bear Essentials die for the clothing; along with the Bear Boy sizzlits for the hat.  I used a Chocolate Chip marker for the little paw print.  The cupcake is from the level one hostess set; colored and cut out & raised with a dimensional.  The flowers and butterfly were stamped with a  sale-a-bration set.

One Sad Little Swap

I was so excited for the Gifts for $1.00 swap at VC Rocks! I made three swaps.  However, there were not enough people joining for me to mail in three swaps.  So here is my sad swap that didn't get mailed.

I did give one away, but I decided not to mail these in because I plan to take them apart and making something with a winter theme for the school craft fair this fall. Maybe a small snowman and a verse about being cold out or friends being flakes.

I can't believe how quickly this summer is going by.  School will be starting at the end of August!  I better get going on craft fair items.

Kids!!!!

My oh so wonderful son that lives far away, scared the heck out of me & my husband along with the rest of my family.  We don's know all the details, the only witness was a small boy (I hope the little boy is ok)  Any how, here is the story (this happened in June & my son is perfectly fine by the way-so don't panic)  So my son & his girlfriend were at her sisters house (first time he was meeting girlfriends family).  My son & his girlfriend were playing with the nieces and nephews.  My son fell off a skateboard (this the part we don't know what happened since my son can't remember and his girlfriend was in-front of him so she didn't see it.  Her nephew did but he wasn't big enough to explain why my son fell).  My son fell and hit his head on the ground.  He was rushed to the hospital because he was knocked out for a minute.  So we were panicked waiting to hear the results from a CAT scan.  It turned out he just had a concussion.

Once all was said and done after a few days we could joke about it and teased him that he is a graceful as I am. So here is his card that I made him.  On the inside I printed a verse on the computer.  It says "We always told you life was tough, get a helmet.....You should have listened better!"

VC Rocks Kids Cards

I joined many swaps this year during our Virtual Convention. In May, I joined 3  card swaps and completely forgot to take photos of them! Luckily the great hostesses take photos to share with the group. Here is a card I did for a Kids Cards swap.  I stamped the images and didn't color them since I included a package of crayons!

Keeping Busy with Build A Bear

Here is what I spent a few hours working on today.  I ironed 34 bears onto bags today.  It is a project I am working on a little at a time. Over Christmas vacation I cut on all the bears from brown fleece scarves from the dollar store (with wonder under on them). I used small peices of a black scarf for the eyes, nose & mouth.  The heart is red felt.  Today, as I said, I ironed on the bears on to 6 different colored bags (also from the dollar store) while watching Twilight.  I am sure I must have been a sight to see.  I brought my iron & ironing board up to my craft room.  Placed it infront of my laptop which played Twilight (cant wait for New Moon to be released on DVD) and sat in my chair ironing away for quite awhile.  I have the skinny tins from SU to create magnetic bears. I also plan on making "coloring books" with BAB stamps.  I have small boxes of crayons from Oriental Trading.  Hopefully, these will be big hits at the craft fairs.

My sweet DD who just turned 5 this past week has been with Grammie.  In that time, around working, I have managed to clean & reorganize my craftroom. I moved things around so hopefully it will be more user friendly. I cleaned everything including baseboards and floors that I washed on my hands and knees.

DH has helped me get the programs on my laptop needed to blog and networking to the internet etc and a bunch of stuff I am not techy enough to know what he was talking about.  I have photos from before Christmas off the camera and got them cropped to start posting again.  I still have a few items that I have made with my stamping group that I need to photograph as well.  I need to round them up first LOL.  Until then....
