Welcome back. With the changing of the blogs etc., I am a little behind. Here is the first Broke Stampers Unite challenge. This months theme is Birthday. As it turns out I needed to make birthday cards. Perfect timing.
I used Night of Navy for the base. The layer of Chocolate Chip has been stamped with the Hardwood background stamp with Early Espresso ink.
I stamped the the fern from Butterfly Basics with Night of Navy on Very Vanilla card stock. I cut it out using the largest oval in the Stitched framelits. I sponged the edges with Chocolate Chip ink. A little twine wrapped around the card.
I wanted to make a masculine card this week. I wanted it to deal with trees. The oval is too small to hold the pine tree from Lovely as a Tree that I was planning on using. I let my friend borrow my wood embossing folder....so this is what I came up with instead. Does that ever happen to you when you stamp. You have something all planned out in your head and then it turns into something completely different???
I wonder what Carol and Terri have created this week. You can see Terri's blog here. Carol's blog is here. We would love to have you join our group on Facebook.
For those of you who didn't follow me over from my old website, here is a little history of our group Broke Stampers Unite.
We are a group of Stampin' Up! demos who have been friends for years, who wanted a place where we could challenge ourselves to reach outside of our comfort zones & try new things so we decided to do delve into weekly challenges. All team members will be using Stampin' Up! products, but if you join us you are free to use whatever you have at your disposal. We hope you will share with us what you make each week by putting a picture of your creation in the comment section of that week. You are free to go back & make something from prior weeks as well.
