Christmas Rescue-New Fur Baby
Just before Christmas, my husband brought home a cat. Someone knew someone, who knew someone that was being evicted. So somehow, this young cat was brought to my husband's place of work (good thing the health inspector was there at the time LOL). This young cat named Tigger, was going to stay with us for just a few days until a coworker could bring it to their parents house. (Yep, that worked out- NOT!)
Well, this cat fell in love with my husband and vice versa. Our cat and dog were not bothered by it in the least, nor was the new cat bothered by them. The cat's name Tigger just didn't fit. He has the bushiest tail! So of course being Harry Potter fans we immediately thought of Crookshanks. The name fit his tail but not his personality. So a few days after being renamed-he was renamed again to Spaz. Spaz completely fits his personality. He is always doing something crazy.
One afternoon, I had been crafting (cant you tell by the mess-hahaha) and then I had to step out for a few minutes. When we walked in to the dining room this is what I saw! Our older cat at least tries to run away, like we might not see her. She is black! But this new cat wasn't quite used to the rules of our house-no cats on the table or counters. I thought he should have had the nerve to look a little guilty. Instead, laid there while I got my camera out. And he proceeded to let me take several pictures.
So now we have two cats again. And once again they are a orange striped and a black cat with white spots.
Until next time.

I Finally Have a Green Thumb
Literally! Of course it is only green ink on my thumb and my fingers too. I was working on making
tea light roses. What a great video found here. They are so stinkin cute and easy.
The hardest or should I say most time consuming part is sponging the edges. I made a half dozen colored roses for the spring time craft fair. I hope people will think they are just as cute as I do. I used all retired papers and inks (what a pretty way to use them up!) The yellow/pink one reminds me of my grandmother. My grandfather used to buy her roses like that for their anniversary.
My Grammie was my first craft teacher ever, along with my mother. It was nice doing a project that made me think of the two of them.

January Scrapbook Page
The January's scrapbook page. It is an 8x8 page. It is bashful blue and marina mist card stock and DSP. The large scallop is a Sizzix die. The snowflakes have rhinestones for a little extra bling. The stamps are from Big on Christmas and Jolliest Time of the Year. I used misc. markers for coloring the images.

Valentine Greetings
Here is a case based ones made by Gretchen Barron. Mine has a pretty in pink card base and taffeta ribbon. The hearts were stamped with rose red. I made this for the second card with my first stamp group. I wanted simple cards since one lady had never stamped in her life! She seemed to have a great time and enjoyed making this card.

First Stamp Club
Here is the first card that was made for my first stamp club as a brand new Stampin' Up! demonstrator. Knowing I had one lady who had never stamped before; I worked at keeping my designs simple (not that I get overly complex to begin with). But I didn't want her to feel overwhelmed or that she needed to buy everything all at once.
I remember taking a challenge once a long time ago that was a "basic challenge". If I remember correctly, only two colors of cardstock could be used including black or white, one stamp pad and one stamp set. I happen to love black and white. Almost all my dress pants are black and I have many white shirts of different styles. So keeping all these things in mind-here is what I came up with.
As I was demoing (is that a real word?) this card-I showed how we could stop at just the black and white paper and it would be a very pretty card with simple elegance. Then I went to explain we were going to dress it up just a little bit with a few simple items. A basic black ribbon and a few rhinestones on the flowers.
It was a great first club and first demonstration. All the ladies in the group are very dear friends or coworkers. I was nervous before people arrived but once everyone was there and I started teaching, all the nervousness went away. They all seemed to have a good time too.
Since this was our first club meeting, the ladies drew numbers to see who would be the hostess. My coworker (the one who had never stamped before) pulled out the number one. She got to be the very first hostess and earn all the free goodies. Everyone was very excited for her. Hopefully, we will have just as much fun next month.

Thank You Card
These are the thank you cards I made this year. Somebody online made them using thank you notes from Stampin Up. I made mine with a half sheet cardstock base and went from there. I used Wild Wassabi card stock, ink & matching button, the snowflake punch and a stamp from Afterthoughts stamp set.
I showed this card to my stamp club. One lady had never stamped before, so I wanted to show her, stamping/card making didn't need to be complicated to be pretty.

Dragonfly Purse & Coffee Cozy
Here is a rag bag I made with the Big Shot and a matching coffee cozy for one of my close friends. Of course with my busy schedule, I didn't actually make it until after Christmas. Normally, I cut the batting small enough to fit inside the scallop square. This time I was thinking of the white fleece on certain winter leather jackets-so I let it show. My friend absolutely loved it, and she loved the dragonflies (she is particularly fond of them).
My friend is also a member of my stamp club. The ladies couldn't believe that was made with a Big Shot. I told them all the things I use my Big Shot for: cork, magnets, soda cans, material and every now and then I have been know to cut paper with it.
Until next time.

For My Hostesses
I made these date books for each of my stamp club members. I used Wild Wasabi and River Rock for paper. Just Believe & After Thoughts for stamps and a punch for the verse-raised with pop dots. And of course all stamp club days have been pre-highlighted for them :-)
Until next time,
