Stamping Time Is On Its Way

Hopefully soon (Thanksgiving weekend) I can get some stamping and blogging done. Grammie wants to take my daughter for that entire weekend! Two and a half days in my craftroom with my movies & music...I wont know what to do with myself!! I can hardly wait.

Get Well Soon

Here is a card I have been dying to case from Dawn and I finally got Pick a Petal tonight! Unfortunately I need to use it. A coworker went hiking and twisted her ankle. The "pop" she heard was a torn tendon.

Photos While My Computer Was Down

Near my MIL there is a man who has a deer/elk farm on his property. If you know where he lives you can visit. Earlier this year when we took my daughter, there were only 2 deer around. This time most of the heard was around. Including a doe that was on the wrong side of the fence. (Apparently she had been loose for a few days & they couldn't catch her) They are pretty used to people. They know where the gumball machine with the food is and what it means if you are standing near it. The buck did try to ram the fence when he thought my daughter was too close but not hard enough to have anything happen. (DD didn't even notice)

Happy Halloween

Well it has been awhile since I have posted. My laptop memory was very small and I overwhelmed it with photos! Ooops.. So finally I have an external hard drive and my DH helped move everything over so my laptop would work. Yippee! So just in time for Halloween I have some goodie boxes. The original Frankie box and directions are here. I wish I had the grass template but I don't so to help reinforce where the handle is, I punched 1" circles & adhered them to the spot I wanted the holes to go. I made 15 of them for the SU party I hostessed. I wish I was able to take a photo of all of them together.

From there I thought of more Halloween ideas. And then I came up with this.

And from there it went to Santa.

In the video Angie said it was wire from the lumber section. If it is the same thing I got from Home Depot it is called re-bar wire and it is greasy. I washed it with a baby wipe and it was just fine. Just don't handle your projects until after you wash your hands.

New York Was Great!

New York was great! I hardly slept at all while there. The weekend was just a weekend we could get the time off & get a great deal on bus tour. We went to Madame Tussauds on the first night. The second day we went to Ground Zero, The Little Chaple That Stood, a bus tour around the city, saw the Statue of Liberity. (All that was before lunch) We walked all over the place, a street fair was going on-so we walked down one side & back up the other. Then we were off to Central Park Zoo. We saw Valerie Harper (Rhoda from the Mary Tyler Moore Shoe) Did I just date myself.

Micheal Phelps was in town that day for Saturday Night Live; so I stayed up later to watch that...
Equus was great! Richard Griffith & Daniel Radcliffe were wonderful. It was so wonderfully done-it didn't seem like a 3 hour show. Of course after the show, it was crazy with people trying to see Daniel Radcliffe after the show. Crowds of teenagers (and adults) on both sides of the street. Several officers trying to keep the road clear of pedestrians so cars could get by. On the way back to the hotel, we saw a few actors from Spamalot by the stage door.

All in all a great weekend. Oh and the weather was great-high 70's & into the 80's.

Getting Ready for New York

My trip for New York is getting closer & closer. My girlfriend & I can hardly stand it! Well I got out my camera today to make sure the battery is charged. Well I am still learning to use all the functions & buttons on this things. So I wanted to practice using some feature that will take "fast photos" so I don't miss anything while we are there. So reading the manual again, I think I found something that I can work. Well, here is our dog in an "action" shot. She has one of the biggest tongues.

Messy Makeover

Here are photos of my son's room. Since he is off at college, I am going to redo his room into a craft room. This wasnt a project I was planning on jumping into right away. He has only been gone for 4 days. However, since we got a kitten the night after he left...and I have all my craft stuff downstairs. JJ loves to jump on, climb on, and chew on all my stuff. I go back to work in 5 days so I will be busting my butt to do the sanding (I already patched the holes & taped off the edges of the floor boards), priming and painting. Then I have to lug all my stuff upstairs. That will be the hardest part of all LOL. I will try to remember to take "after" photos.

New Family Member

Here is the newest member of our family. Her name is J.J. which is sort for "Just Jewl". If anyone watched Will & Grace should remember Jack and his one man show "Just Jack" with the jazz hands. Well my husband and I were texting each other trying to come up with names. We both like Jewl. I suggested Black Jewl and my dh wrote back just jewl- so it was sort of a joke when I asked just Jewl or Just Jewl. So then we came up with JJ. She is such a little spit fire compared to our 11 1/2 year old cat, Lacey.

Frankie Challenge

Here is a cute Halloween card that I made. It was a challenge that Dawn had. I used different colors than she did; and I used the word window punch from Stampin Up! for Frankie's neck. I don't like how the mouth came out on my card.... When I finish my craft room I will have to try to make another one. (That might take me awhile). But what a sweet & simple card that I could make the students I get this year.

Broadway Bound

I have to post this because I am so excited! My girlfriend and I are going to NY in a few weeks. We are going to see Equus. We said last year that if it came to Broadway we wanted to go. Well tickets went on sale & we were all excited. Then we figured the cost and it was just too much to take the train to NY, hotel etc. We were so bummed. Then my girlfriend remembered this tiny little tour bus company that she and another friend went on a long time ago. Well, they just happened to have a tour bus going to NY that weekend!! Well guess what. We are going. Bus reservations have been made & tickets have been mailed! Look out NY here we come. Hopefully I can get some really nice photos with my camera.

Off to College

Here is a card I made my son. It will be a surprise for when he arrives at college. It is from his cat that he has had for 11 1/2 years. My husband picked her out of the litter but my son named her & he has belonged to her ever since. The stamp is a retired TAC stamp. I used the cuttlebug smoosh from Technique Junkies Newsletter

Mosaic Activity

Do you think I like black? LOL When ever I am shopping for clothes I always pick black & white items first! (I think it is all the years of waitressing & it goes with everything) If it is for my house I pick bright colors. Two rooms are bright yellow, three are bright blue & the boys got to choose the paint for their rooms (bright green and teal) And another funny thing, I have a carousel horse collection & a carousel tattoo.

Here is a neat idea I found on the Stampin' Librarian . Go to Flickr!

What you do:

a. Type your answer to each of the questions below into Flickr Search.

b. Using only the first page, pick an image (I orginally didnt do this so my "photos are a little off)

c. Copy and paste each of the URLs for the images into fd’s mosaic maker.Answer the following questions:

The Questions: (of course you could use any questions you'd like...)

1. What is your first name?
2. What is your favorite food?
3. What high school did you go to?
4. What is your favorite color?
5. Who is your celebrity crush?
6. Favorite drink?
7. Dream vacation?
8. Favorite dessert?
9. What you want to be wh
en you grow up?
10. What do you love most in life?
11. One Word to describe you.
12. Your Flickr name

Do you think I like black? LOL When ever I am shopping I always pick black items first! If it is for my house I pick bright colors.

1. Stacy Smith, 2. Caramel Hazelnut Latte, 3. Living Hope, 1 Peter 1:3-9 VerseVisions, 4. carrousel de paris, 5. Daniel Radcliffe, 6. Bailey's, Kaluha & Vodka, 7. Sunset Cruise, 8. Some more M&M's, 9. La Femme, 10. The Eyes Have It, 11. Falling Through Blue, 12. Day Lily 6197

butterfly swirls

Here is a quick card that I made the other morning. I have been dying to use this butterfly set from TAC (The Angel Company) and the verse if from PSX. The card opens at the chocolate & pink layers even though it doesn't show well in this scan. I will have to take a photo of it sometime.

Here is a few pictures of a fire we had in our backyard. There was brush that needed clearing so my friend could paint the garage. It may look like a large fire but it is actually in one of those metal firepits you buy at the dept. store. All evening I had been looking at it thinking it was so pretty and finally it dawned on me to go get the camera. I messed around with different knobs & dodads on my camera just trying to learn how to use. Some pictures came out really well, others were just so so. I took a picture of the red hot coals & sent it to my friend asking her to guess what it was. I will have to wait to see if she can figure it out.

Roomie Swap

Here is the items for my roomie swap minus the Doritos' Chips. My roomie is getting one item of every swap I participated in, and coasters to alter, and a manicure & pedicure kit so we can have a spa day down by the pool.

Projects for VC

Here is a card that I made for the people who have a birthday in June. I made 24 of these today. An here is a close up on the bee wings. The past two days I have actually been able to stamp without too much interruptions from children.

Yesterday I got to work on my VC Rocks! roomie swap. .
Here is a coaster frame, front & back made with coasters from my husbands work place and a scrappin kit that is retired.

Alphabet Friend

Here is a card for my roomie. I started casing another card, pg 87 in the SU catalog. Well it went from being a flowery card in my mind to this! I wish I had left the Friend piece a little longer so I could have put ribbon or floss around one end. Oh well.

VC Rocks Swaps

I joined several VC swaps but only remember to take photos/scans of a few of them. Hope the participants like them.

VC Rocks hostess RAKS

Here is a altered envelope using a crimper on part of the envelope. I made some of the for the hard working hostesses on VC Rocks! I actually used my camera and a "lighting studio" I bought at Radio Shack. Hopefully when I get a stamp room again I can have a "photo area" to photograph all my samples and practice my photography.

Here is an altered altoid tin with gift tags inside. This was a sample to show the group on VC Rocks. I am hosting the Tins & Tags swap there.

Here is a gift card holder that I made. I learned how to make it from Dawn's website. She is like having a demonstrator in my home whenever I like. And I like her taste in music.
