Kids!!!!

My oh so wonderful son that lives far away, scared the heck out of me & my husband along with the rest of my family.  We don's know all the details, the only witness was a small boy (I hope the little boy is ok)  Any how, here is the story (this happened in June & my son is perfectly fine by the way-so don't panic)  So my son & his girlfriend were at her sisters house (first time he was meeting girlfriends family).  My son & his girlfriend were playing with the nieces and nephews.  My son fell off a skateboard (this the part we don't know what happened since my son can't remember and his girlfriend was in-front of him so she didn't see it.  Her nephew did but he wasn't big enough to explain why my son fell).  My son fell and hit his head on the ground.  He was rushed to the hospital because he was knocked out for a minute.  So we were panicked waiting to hear the results from a CAT scan.  It turned out he just had a concussion.

Once all was said and done after a few days we could joke about it and teased him that he is a graceful as I am. So here is his card that I made him.  On the inside I printed a verse on the computer.  It says "We always told you life was tough, get a helmet.....You should have listened better!"

Graduation

My sister in law graduated this year.  Her school colors are green and gold.  Here I used the Sizzix doll and graduation outfit. I am not sure which company made the stamps but they were purchased at AC Moore.  The bottom was Stampin Up's border punch.

RAK Challenges

During VC Rocks! there are weekly RAK challenges.  I made a bunch of these cards for all the different challenges.  We have one Rockers who doesn't like pink so I made one slightly different.  The clock stamp was from Inkadinkadoo I believe, and the verse is a retired stamp from The Angel Company.  I just love my Big Shot and dies and punches.

Oops Forgot to Post for Mother's Day & Father's Day

I Even Impressed My Son

Here is a photo of one of the candle holders I made my son for his new apartment with he moved into this weekend.  I used two Arizona Ice Tea cans-the flavor my son drinks all the time.  I used the Big Shot and the Flower Folds die.  Embossed it with a embossing folder and held everything together with a jumbo eyelet.

I curved the petals around the tea light and a pencil to give them a little dimension. I would strongly recommend using gardening gloves or some type of gloves to protect your hands during this project.  The edges of a cut can are very sharp.  They aren't nearly as sharp after cutting it with the Big Shot but I would still be careful, it is metal after all.

When I gave them to my son, he said "Mom, these are the coolest things ever.  Seriously, I'm impressed!"  What could melt a moms heart more than that?

Mom's Birthday

Here is a quick card that  I made for my Mom.  I had to hand deliver it since it had a 3D flower made with the extra large flower punch.

Operation Hero Watch

Many people know Kelly.  Her children started Operation Hero Watch-they are trying to collect at least one card from every state while their dad is deployed. I had been meaning to send a card to them and you know how things get.  Well July 4th came and how could I not make Kelly's children a special card since their dad is risking his life so I can stamp.  So here is what I came up with.  It is a case from A Stamp Above.  I hope they like it.  Can you see the birds?  It was super easy. If you have time please send Kelly and her children a note or postcard.  It is the least we can do for them.

VC Rocks Kids Cards

I joined many swaps this year during our Virtual Convention. In May, I joined 3  card swaps and completely forgot to take photos of them! Luckily the great hostesses take photos to share with the group. Here is a card I did for a Kids Cards swap.  I stamped the images and didn't color them since I included a package of crayons!

VCRocks Blog Hop #3

There is only about a month left of my favorite group VC Rocks!  Where is the time going?  We are already on our third blog hop.  You should have joined me from Barb Furlong .Or if you are joining me out of sheer randomness you can see the entire hop from here.

For today's hop, I made this fun card.  Using Tempting Turquoise, Regal Rose, Rose Red, Garden Green and Velum card stock. I used Beautiful Butterflies die, Elegant Bouquet & Petals a Plenty embossing folders, Fancy Flower punch, Two Step Bird punch (for the leaves), white gel pen, clear rhinestone brad, silver cording (retired) and dimensionals.

The butterfly was cut from the Rose Red and Velum card stock tied with the silver cording that made the body & antenna.  The flower was punched three times in Regal Rose and embossed with Petals a Plenty folder. Two of the flowers were snipped to the middle of the flower and then the petals were brought in tighter so they over lapped and became more 3D. A clear rhinestone was put in the middle. The leaves are the wings of the bird punch.  The white gel pen was used to color the centers of the flowers of the a base of the  card.

Don't forget to come back August 21 & 22 for this years final blog hop.

I hope you continue on with our blog hop by visiting Lori Palmer

Come Visit My Craft Room

For years now, I have not been mounting my stamps and I have stored them in jewl cd cases.  I used to have a bookcase with boxes that held the cases.  But I was running out of room and I had to find a creative way to use my space.  I have only a few small walls that are straight up and down.  I have a 17ft. that slants 4 ft off the floor, and the eaves of the roof start (needless to say most of the room you cannot stand up straight in most of this room)  Well I found this cd/dvd rack online and it only takes a 2x2 ft area on the floor.  And it holds more cd cases than I could ever own!  It was a bit pricey but it is sturdy. I have one side holding my Big Shot dies, SU stamp sets, one side holds other companies stamps.  There is even a section that holds cds and movies that I like to listen to when I craft.

This next picture is of a corner desk I bought dirt cheap from my local stamp store when it went out of business :(  On one side I have my laptop, printer, tv & dvd player.  The other side is left blank for when I have to start taking courses for my job this fall.  And you can also see the slant of the ceiling.

Here is the newly purchased wall unit I bought at Home Depot.  And it is the only full length wall in my room and it is the length of my desk LOL!  And for this moment frozen in time my desk is clean.  I have two shelves with misc. things stored on it.  The hanging basket hold the XL Big Shot dies.  I have enough room for one more shelf on top but last week my wallet said not today.
Here is my ink unit.  I had to finally buy a curtain so the sun wouldn't ruin my things.  Underneath the ink, is two of the 12x12 three draw storage containers you can buy at Walmart, it has a piece of wood on top to hold my ink storage stable.

The nest two photos are of my window above and below.  Sorry the pictures are not better but it hard to get a good photos with the sun coming into the camera.  I bought a regular curtain rod for my punches.  The ones that are now being called the
"Old Style" punches are on that.  Then I bought a cafe style curtain rod to hang under a small built in shelf that is attached to the window.  On that I have my ribbon.  I didn't realize I had so many rolls of the same color since before that they were all dumped in a box.  I am trying to put everything where I can see it so I will use it!

I hope you enjoyed your visit to my craft room.

Cupcakes Anyone?

Here is a card I made for a blog hop but used some colors that I thought were retiring and they weren't.  Oh well, I think it is still a cute card.  I used the ends of some Top Note die that I cut off for another set of cards I made.  I put the black ribbon over the seam so it wouldn't show.  Then I just stamped, colored and layered the cupcakes on the stand.  I put glitter on the frosting.

I hope everyone had a safe and Happy 4th of July.
