My Dear Husband puts up with so much from me, it isn't funny! Some days I wonder how he does it. Here was a simple little card for him. I was torn on how far to fill the meter. I thought of filling in I'd marry you again and penciling in but not having the kids....They must have been driving me crazy at the time. Oh kids, you have to love them so much.

VC Rocks Blog Hop #2
I hope you have enjoyed the VC Rocks second blog hop so far. You must have joined me from Mary Campbell's blog.
This month our blog hop is suppose to feature something retiring, something from the summer mini, or a sneak peak. As they say, two out of three aint bad.
This scrapbook page was something my demo came up with for our June stamp club; and I thought it was just perfect for this blog hop. It has things that are retiring at the end of June, it has items from the summer mini catalog and it has a Monkey! Monkey's are notorious for the havoc they cause at the VC Rocks Hotel. (Of course, sometimes I think it might REALLY be a few out of control Rockers! LOL)
This scrapbook page is made with retiring colors: Glorious Green, Creamy Carmel, Chocolate Chip, Only Orange, and Pink Passion. All colors I absolutely love and will miss greatly. Also, the stamp set Enjoy is retiring along with the brads. All the punches used are staying-they will just be a new style except for the flower trio which make cute little hands. If you like punch art, get that one right away.
The flowers and grass are made from Tropical Party from the Summer Mini catalog. The flowers were made with Versa Mark and clear embossing powder & cut out. The centers are brads from the bold brights set. The bamboo hut is Creamy Caramel put through the Big Shot with a texture plate, then sponged with Chocolate Chip ink to make it look more like wood. The wood lines are made with a Chocolate Chip marker. The window frame is Chocolate Chip strips about 1/2 wide-and the curvy ends were free hand with a pair of scissors. The "string" is a white gel pen. Real hemp could have been used as well.
I hope you enjoyed today's project. Maybe you can catch some little monkeys of your own. To continue the blog hop visit Deborah Robb

Seeing Spots
Here is a simple card using Circus Circles from Stampin Up. This set matches their punches so layering is super easy. I really should have used the stamp a ma jig for my sentiment. Just close one eye and tilt your head- then it will look straight.

Candy Box
Ok, who doesn't like a box of chocolates. Here is one where the M&Ms didn't even last through taking the photos. This cute little box was made with the Big Shot box #2. The center was punched out with the oval punch and a piece of transparency was placed to cover the hole. The ribbon is only on the lid, that way the pretty ribbon can stay on the box and the owner doesn't even have to untie it.
The sentiment was stamped and layered. I love the lacy edge made with a Stampin Up punch.

From Our House to Yours
I just love my Big Shot! Anything that makes projects go so quickly gets a thumbs up in my book. For this project it is actually two tags taped together on the bottom. They make a little tent that I tied with ribbon-there is a cello bag with gum drops inside. A small strip of designer paper, a punched sentiment and you are good to go! A bunch of these could be made in no time at all.

Happy Day
I had a stamping party a week ago and all my goodies have come in! It is like Christmas has come early! Not ony was I hostess and I earned hostess credit; but my birthday was at the beginning of the month and all the family had sent $$ for me to get something special.
Well, I got something special alright. I got the Simple Letters set. I cant wait to use them. I want to make my daughter a personalized t-shirt with them.
I also got some of the more expensive big shot dies that I have been waiting to get-the XL flower, the XL party setting (or is it called pretty setting) Now I need to drink some soda or ice tea or something in a metal can. I want to make candle holders with both of them like I have seen online.
I got a couple retired sets. Once upon a time and You & Moi. Once upon a time I think will make great wedding/anniversary cards.
I am so glad I cleaned and organized my stamp room last week. Off to play with my new toys!

Christmas in July (Almost)
I can't decide if I am early or late with Christmas cards at the end of June. Let's pretend I am early since usually I am late. I was born on time (actual due date) and I have been running 15 minutes late ever since.
The first photos are of a gift card holder. I am not 100% sure I like the cover. I think either the dark blue is too dark or the other colors aren't dark enough--I am not sure what it is I don't like....
The inside has one of my favorite holiday sentiments inside.
The second card I think came out very cute with a matching envelope. I really have to start trying to use designer paper more often. I love Stampin Up dsp but I always feel guilty there is a side not being used, so I feel like I have wasted something. I am silly I know...

Scrapbook Page 5
Here is a scrapbook page made with the new wheels in the summer mini catalog. The tulips are made with an oval punch and then the tips are cut out the the point of the star punch. I am not sure it is one of my favorites...I am undecided on the Razzleberry color.

Scrapbook Page 4
Isn't this bird punch the best? Right along with the border punch. Oh yes, this was a rough month on the wallet. I purchased everything to make this page again except the designer paper. Need I say more?

Scrapbook Page 3
Here was a super cute simple page. I love that about my demo when it comes to scrapbook pages. She knows we are mostly card makers but she is trying to broaden our horizons. (Good Luck Cindi!) The sweet pea flowers were so cute. I may have to get felt and my Big Shot out and see if they are something that I can make. Hmmmm.

Scrapbook Page 2
Here is another page. I love that xtra large flower punch becomes something in the new catalog. At first I wasnt going to get things from the mini catalog that ended in April... Well guess what? I got a fair amount from it! I just thought of what I want to put in here. Next weekend my 3 closest friends and I are going to be together. Wouldnt that make an excellent photo. They all get along but not all of them would be friends if they weren't friends with me too. Does that make any sense. But each one has certain qualities that they bring out in me. One is the loud/daring one. One is the all around fun one, and the last is the quiet/reserved one. I am all those depending on which situation I am in. **Note to self: Besides a snack bring the camera!
