Happy Easter!

Happy Easter to everyone.  I hope you enjoy your day no matter how you celebrate.

Until next time,

VC Rocks Challenge

A challenge on VC Rocks was to use 2+1.  Select two colors from the same color family and the third color from a different family.  Black and white were free colors.  I picked Rich Razzleberry, Old Olive and So Saffron.  I embossed them with the lattice embossing folder.

Part two of the challenge was to take the 3 colors, make them into a card and using only ONE verse stamp, make the card a congratulations card or a praise card.  I used "friend" from the Just Believe set.  I punched it out with the new decorative label punch.  I also added three rhinestones for a little bit of bling.

Downline Meeting Make & Takes

My upline Cindi Kugell, has a downline meeting every month.  Since I joined Stampin' Up it has snowed every first Saturday of the month.  This month I finally got to go.  It was suppose to be bad weather that day as well, but it turned out to be nice so it was a last minute thing.  It was nice meeting such a great groups of ladies (please don't ask me to remember everyone's name because I couldn't).  Anyhow, a few ladies had make and takes to demo a few ideas they had.  The above card used a really cool technique I knew about but had never done.  All the wiggly lines are made with a rubber band on a brayer.  And I learned with the bird punch the wing is the attitude.

Next was a sneak peak share; which is what I copied for my group of stamp ladies, changing up the colors a bit.

Lastly, we had our choice of a 6"x6" scrapbook page or a 3"x6" card.  I selected a card.  I did get a little smudge on it but I didn't want to use up all Cindi's paper.  Anything with a little smudge on it, my friend calls her "prototype".   Keep it for the idea and make a good one for someone else.  Besides, I like the layout so I am sure I will make something similar at some point.

Until next time.

Sneak Peak!

Look at this gorgeous new Designer Series Paper (dsp)called Paisley Petal that is going to be in the new catalog; along with the new stamp set Four Frames.  The base of the card does not show well in this photo.  It is actually Night of Navy, layered with the Paisley Petal and Tangerine
Tango that I ran through the Big Shot with the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder.

I stamped the Four Frames image on Whisper White with Night of Navy ink along with Thank You from Just Believe. It was punched out with the Decorative Label Punch.  And Night of Navy ribbon was used as well.

You can get these items early during the month of April with a purchase of $20 or more.  So contact me or shop on my online store HERE

VC Rocks!

My favorite yahoo groups VC Rocks is starting back up again. If you like anything Stampin Up you will love this group.  You can check it out here.

VC stands for Virtual Convention.  And it is like a giant online slumber party!  It runs from May-Aug.  There are challenges, card swaps, make & takes, blog hops and tons and tons of emails (cuz you know an excited group of stampers will talk and talk and talk)  And there is even a VC Rocks hotel that you can "check into".

Even though we do all this stuff online, and some snail mail too, we have members who actually go to the real convention and report into us what is going.  So if you would like to join (and you can delete emails, nobody says you have to read them all) click here.

Post It Note Picture Frame

Here is a simple gift or craft fair item.  This is a 3.5"x5" frame from the Christmas Tree Shoppe.  I think they are a New England chain but I am not sure...but it is a discount store and the frames there are $.69.  I used designer paper from the 6x6 hostess paper pack from Stampin Up.  The pen has a screw off end and I rolled a 3/4" x 3.5" piece of dsp  that was scrap from the frame.  I got a package of 8 at the dollar store.

The word is from Word Play.  The stamp actually says Remember When, but I only colored the Remember with a black marker and then stamped.

I was thrilled when I went into one of my ladies classroom and she had it on her desk.  I let everyone in the group pick the color they wanted.  If I were to give this as a gift, I would put a coordinating ribbon around it as well.

Well until next time,

Bunnies & Carrots

The other day I posted a carrot for Easter that I cased.  Well today is the the version I didn't case.  I used the new Petal Die for the carrot.  The carrot is made with Tangerine Tango and Always Artichoke.  The bunnies ae made from Chocolate Chip, Pink Pirouette and Basic Black card stock.  A white gel pen and black marker are used for the detail on the faces.  Various circle punches and oval punches were used for the bunnies.  The only stamping was Happy Easter from the Teeny Tiny Wishes set.  (I am grateful for who ever pointed that out online.)

On this particular stamp camp, most of my regulars could not make it so my daughter got to make her own bunny and then of course she went and got her stamps and scrap paper and made this by herself.  Not bad for a six year old.

Are Those Robins?

Not quite.  They are black and red birds though.  This page was super easy to put together since almost everything was made with punches.  The birds are the Two Step Bird Punch, the mat uses the Scallop Trim punches, and the small rectangles the birds are sitting on were textured with the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder.

Funky Fun Flower Flip Flops

Boy try saying that ten times fast!

My dear friend is the hostess this month for stamp club.  She didn't want to make cards or scrapbook pages (too bad for her, we are making a scrapbook page).

She likes it when I "stamp stuff" as she puts it.  So basically, she wants to alter items for her workshop.  While surfing the net, I was looking at blogs where people had made flip flops with the Big Shot and a daisy die if I remember correctly.  And I thought I just love the Fun Flower Die and that would be soooo cute! Unfortunately, only the brads are Stampin Up.  For the hostess flip flops (top right) I used brads from the Styled Hardware set.  For my daughter's flip flops (ya didn't think I could make something that fun without her wanting some, did ya?) I used the glitter brads from the Occasions mini catalog.

I am working on a pair for myself with the hot pink, turquoise, and black.  I will have to paint my toenails before the workshop (I have turquoise nail polish that matches) and wear them.  So keep your fingers crossed that it doesn't snow like it did on April Fool's Day.

Petal Die Carrot

OK, so I could not have CASED (copy & share everything or copy and steal everything) this project from Becky Roberts any more if I tried. Well, maybe if I had the green ribbon and a chocolate bunny instead of the baby chick, I could have....

But it was this idea that I saw that made me "have to get" the petal die.  I saw many projects made with it -ice cream cones, boxes, vases etc but the carrot did it for me!

I am going to do this with my club this coming weekend, however, instead of the "Happy Easter" in the scallop circles, I am going to have a little punch art.

So until next time,
