Many "Reasons to Smile"

I have many reasons to smile, one is we went a week without internet.  Oh My Goodness!  Thankfully I had facebook on my smart phone to see what my friends were doing. After two days of technician trouble shooting (poor guy said a complete install takes less time), he found all the problems and fixed them. Yipee!  He was such a sweet young man, I hope he gets a raise.

Stampin Up's convention is Salt Lake City has started.  And I saw this video today.  It cracks me up.  It looks like such a fun place to be.  Not only are Stampin Up employees creative with ink, paper and stamps; they are creative with a video camera as well!  (I sure wish I was at convention instead of helping my BFF clean her mother in laws basement that is full of dust, dirt & mouse poop!)
Finally, my last reason for smiling today is I promised you some photos of cards I was going to make with July's special REASON TO SMILE stamp set.  Place a $50 order and receive this stamp set for just $5.  So here are three examples I made.
So if you would like to learn how to make any of the cards above, feel free to contact me.

Paper Camp and Freezer Snowballs

What a title huh?  I am sure everyone is asking "what the heck?"  They are a couple photos I wanted to share with you.  The first one has to do with paper crafts.  I am working with the rec dept.  this week.  My dear friend and I are teaching 8 girls about different paper art.  Today we used the Big Shot and the Stocking Die from Stampin Up.  I am not sure where all these ideas came from orginally, they were on the web last year.  We made a roller skate card, a witches' boot gift holder, and a Christmas stocking. The plan had been for an elf boot box-but since we were running out of time-it became a basic Christmas stocking, and they had their choice to make it into two tags, or a gift holder like the witches' boot.

Well, let me tell you, some of these young girls were so creative I am going to be casing their ideas!  See how adorable they are.  They started coloring the embossed designs with their markers (to think I only use shimmer paint on mine). This is the work of five of the eight girls that have joined the group.  You may even recognize a few Build A Bears in there.  I had plenty of those left over from last years bay festival.  Anyone who finished early or was waiting for their mom, got to make a bear.  These girls were so creative, a photographer from the local paper stopped by as well.

I can hardly wait to see what they will do tomorrow with cupcake stamps, stampin around wheels and gift bags!

The next photo is just my daughter and I have fun.  Which isn't too bad considering we (I) was defrosting our freezer chest.  She thought it was fun to pull the frost off the sides of the chest.  I didn't think it was bad, but I wouldn't call it fun.  We placed all the pieces of frost into a bowl.  I had planned on tossing out the front door.  My daughter wasn't having any part of that.  She wanted to play in it.  She ended up making snowballs!  Yep, only at my house we would have snowballs in July!

My daughter ended up with enough frost to make two or three snowballs.  Of course you HAVE to throw a snowball.  Amazingly, I actually got a picture of it with my cell phone!

Message Frim SU Headquarters

Basic Black Stampin' Pad
We are working on an issue with the Basic Black Classic Stampin' Pad (item 126980). We have discovered that the ink smears when stamped on Whisper White and Very Vanilla Card Stock; however, it still works on the other colors of card stock. We are testing both the ink and card stock. At this time, we do not know when this issue will be resolved and recommend using the Jet Black StazOn Ink Pad (item 101406) on Whisper White and Very Vanilla Card Stock. We are working on this daily and will let you know when we have more information.
Ink Refills
When you use the firm foam pads you get a more solid and crisp image. The firm foam pads hold less ink and release more onto your stamp which means you will need to refill the pad more frequently.

A Reason To Smile.

Who needs "A Reason to Smile"?  Everyone does of course.  Look at this adorable stamp set that is a LIMITED EDITION SET FOR JULY ONLY!   I hate to shout but this is an awesome stamp set that is only $5 with a $50 purchase.  Yes, I said FIVE BUCKS!  It doesn't matter if it is clear or wood mount.

My man in brown came really early today. He must have known my special stamp set was in that box! Ok, so probably there were not many packages on his truck since he was here at 10:30 am instead of 3:30 pm; but a girl can have her fantasies can't she?

I am running around like crazy today, despite this terrible headache so I can play tomorrow and have some samples to show you.  Also, I have some more of the new firm stamp pads.  I just love those too!  I can't wait to replace all my stamp pads.  Believe it or not I still have some of the old type that have the lift covers that need rubber bands to keep them closed.

Anyhow, contact me or go online to get your $5 stamp set. And I will have some card samples for you later this week.

Until then,
