Mom's Gardens

I am still working on using MDS.

Here are some photos I took at my mother's house.  She is so patient with her gardens.  When she is done for the day, there won't even be a blade of grass growing where it shouldn't be.  My garden's are full of dandelions and weeds, but not hers.

Shoes And Rings And MDS Oh My!

I am determined to learn how to use My  Digital Studio from Stampin Up!  There was a challenge on VC Rocks this week to make a scrapbook page with a photo of just yourself.  Well first of all, I am the one usually taking the pictures-so I am not in that many.  Second, to find where the heck I put the photos....

So here is my silly little story of a picture I took of myself two days ago.  Oddly it is of my hand and foot-not my face.

More of the story:

At the end of my daughter dance recital, when all the parents were in the hallway I saw a lady wearing a pair of these shoes.  I grabbed my mother's arm and said "Look at those shoes!  They would match my ring!"

So after going out to eat, I had to go to the mall.  I went to 4 or 5 stores before finding them.  describing them to different clerks, walking up and down rows and rows of shoes.  And finally, there they were right near the window!!  And they were on sale for $12.99!

I was so excited I had to tell all my facebook friends/family about them.  The first response was from my mother making sure I had not mugged the poor lady from the dance recital someplace. (Really, how desperate does my mother think I am???)

One of Many May Birthdays

May really seems to be a busy month for birthdays. I have 4 friends who have their birthdays within 3 days of each other!  Plus the rest of my family and friends.

Here is a card I made my friend/co-worker.  I used Perfect Plum card stock and DSP.  Also, I used the Big Shot and Fun Flowers die.  I distressed the flower by just crumpling it up in my hand and sponging it.  I added a vanilla button with twine and vanilla ribbon.

The Fun Flower die is becoming one of my favorite dies.  I am sure there will be for you to see with it this summer. Only three more weeks of school left!  Yippeee!

Flower Fest

I ordered the Flower Fest stamp set and I needed something I could do with my stamp group.  Originally, I was going to make this card here with them.  And then surfing the web I saw this card by Dawn. Well I just knew this was a card & technique my ladies had to make.

I am so glad I made this card with them instead.  They just thought it was the cats' meow once it was all done.  I changed it up ever so slightly; I used the word window punch and showed the ladies how to double punch to make it fit the sentiment they used.  All in all I think they had a great time.

Sneak Peak Punch Swap

Here is a card base I worked on for a swap.  I love Stampin Up!'s designer series paper because all the colors and patterns co-ordinate so well together.

I'm calling this a "sneak peek" because this is just the base and there will be something really cute added made with punches for a VC Rocks! Die Cut/Punch swap.  So if you want to see what the finished card looks like you will have to come back next week!

Color My World- VC Rocks Blog Hop

Ok so you know that crazy group of ladies that I keep talking about every summer? You might have heard me mention VC Rocks once or twice. (See VC Rocks blog here)  We are having our first blog hop of the summer.  I hope you joined me from The Love of Stamping   Barb Furlong has really awesome ideas, don't you think??

So our theme for this month is Color My World. I used the new stamp set Flower Fest from the summer mini (and it will be in the new catalog coming out in July)  I stamped the flowers in black Stazon on glossy white card stock.  I colored the flowers and background with sponge daubers using Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight, Tangerine Tango and Old Olive. I stamped the verse from Word Play in Tangerine Tango  Then, finally, I layered it on Basic Black & Tangerine Tango card stock.

Please stop by InkPaperStamps because Holly P has more colorful ideas to share with you.  If you would like to see the hop from the very beginning head on over to here.

New Triple Punch

order here

This is the coolest thing ever!   A punch that has three levels to it.  It is in the Summer Mini Catalog and I can't wait for my friends to try it out!  I used it for my April thank you notes.  I punched the bottom layer in black and In Colors.  A cute little pearl in the middle.

I teased my club members is a little note that said it was a sneak peak at what was coming for May.  I hope they have as much fun with it as I do.

VC Rocks Challenge

At my favorite Yahoo group VC Rocks! there are several challenges.  And from those challenges here is a card I made.

The first part was to stamp an image on plain white card stock.  A few days later you had to stamp a verse and back it with a color.  And just to make things more interesting Kimm had us do things in between so we never knew what would end up with what....All things considered I don't think it's all THAT bad.

Happy Mother's Day!

To all my cyberspace friends and the ones I see every day, Happy Mother's Day!  I hope everyone has a wonderful day.

I am doing laundry and crafting.  Laundry isn't the most fun thing in the world but I guess if I don't want to go to work naked, it has to be done.  My gift from my middle son was he babysat his little sister last night so I could go to my upline's house and craft there.  I will post photos later.

Where Does Time Go???

I have been SUPER BUSY but I am in hopes if I got all the work done, then I could play!

Wednesday night at 6:30 I was suppose to attend a webinar for school.  So I stayed at school getting homework for my online class done. I am almost done and I still have 3 weeks of class left. YIPEE!! I must admit I hate homework Hahaha.  I am glad I got that accomplished because at 6:30 I went down to the Supts Office for this webinar.....we were there for an hour before the assistant director said we could leave-there were technical difficulties to say the least!

Last night and tonight I was working on a swap/blog hop projects. The hop is all about color!  So of course I picked bright colors and I used a new set from the summer mini catalog.

Make sure you come back on the 15th for the VC Rocks! Blog-hop, there will be some great projects!

Until next time,
