Classes

I'm working on layouts for an Adult Ed Class that I am teaching at RSU 25 this fall.  I will be teaching rubber stamping for eight weeks, and it will be all Christmas cards.  I have half the layouts designed.  So be on the lookout for this class if you live in the Bucksport area.

Heck, give me a call, you don't really have to wait until fall for me to stamp with your and your friends!

Sweet 16

Another challenge from VC Rocks was to scrapbook a birthday page using the brights collections.  My MDS (My Digital Studio) skills are still basic but I think the page came out ok.  It was my youngest sons birthday a few years ago.

I loved the fact it was a challenge using the brights collection-as you can see by the yellow walls in the background I like bright colors!

New Hostess Set From 2011-2012 Catalog

Here is a quick card using a new hostess set from the 2011-2012 catalog that starts July 1!  The set is called Happiest Birthday Wishes.  I used Tangerine Tango for the base, punched the Mellon Mambo with the scallop border punch, layered the Whisper White on Basic Black.  I dotted the i's with glitter brads that have carried over to the new catalog.  I love the glitter brads.  I am so happy they made it into the new catalog!

I made this card for a VC Rocks challenge making a birthday card using the brights collection. Hopefully, I will get the chance to stamp some more this week. Only another week until the new catalog is released.  I don't think anyone will be disappointed in it!

Want to Know How to Get Free Stuff?

Who doesn't love free stamp sets, papercrafting supplies, and tools?!  Stampin! Up! is very generous with free merchandise through the Hostess Benefits program.  And the benfits are getting even better in the new catalog!
Free Merchandise When You Host a Stampin' Up! Workshop! In the past, when you and your workshop guests put in an order toaling $150 or more, you could choose one or more Hostess Sets PLUS youwould receive $15 or more worth of free merchandise.  the Hostess Sets you could choose from, as well as the amount of free merchandise you earned, was based on the size of your order.
Stampin' Up! is starting a new system of Hostess Benefits in the catalog being released in July.  There will still be Hostess Sets that are only available to customers with qualifying orders, and you will still be able to choose any item in the catalog for your free merchandise.  But now you will earn "Hostess Dollars" that you can use to buy Hostess Sets and/or any merchandise in the catalog.
Free Merchandise from Stampin' Up! Hostess Sets can only be bought with Hostess Dollars, and you can purchase ANY Hostess Set--there are no longer different sets available to you based on the size of your order.  The price of these sets is much lower than comparable sets in the rest of the catalog, so you get great value for the Hostess Dollars you earn.
What if you don't want any of the Hostess Sets?  No problem, you can spend all of your Hostess Dollars on any other catalog merchandise your little heart desires--stamp sets, supplies, tools, whatever you want!
What if you don't want to do a workshop?  You can still earn Hostess Benefits by putting in a qualifying order by yourself.  You can even gather orders from friends to help raise the number of Hostess Dollars you earn.
Big Shot Now for the best part:  When you put in an order of $400 or more you will be able to purchase one of more items (depending on the order total) in the catalog for 50% off!  So if you have been wondering how you could manage to get a Big Shot or other high ticket item, here's your chance--just put an order together through a workshop or gathering orders from frineds, and get a Big Shot for $49.98 instead of $99.95!
I am really excited about this new system of Hostess Benefits.  I think you will be, too.  If you have any questions about the benefits, be sure to email me at stampinstace@gmail.com.  Then start planning to host a workshop!  I will be happy to help you earn as much free merchandise as you can stand to receive!!  Email or call me at 207-659-0412 to schedule your workshop today!
If you don't have a catalog yet I'll be happy to send you one--just contact me.

Vacation Has Started!

Thank goodness school is out for summer!  It has been a long school year as it was, moving from elementary to middle school (oh the middle school drama!)  School life has been crazy and personal life has been busy too.  My youngest son graduated from high school; I have been taking classes for my job (which will continue through the summer), I have survived cuts at school due t o budget cuts so far.  My oldest son is moving back home, so we are rearranging the house since his old room is now my stamping room....the list goes on and on and on....

Some exciting news is I am impatiently waiting for the UPS man to arrive on Thursday with my Stampin Up preorder items & my 2011-2012 catalog. Also, this fall I will be teaching stamping through adult ed.  Hopefully, it will lead to more classes.  I am hoping to work on lots of ideas this summer for adult ed classes & craft fairs.  So even though I am on vacation, I don't think I will be bored.

VC Rocks Blog Hop II, 2011

Thanks for joining VC Rocks second bloghop of 2011.  You probably joined me from Kim Overholt.  For a complete listing of all the participants start here.

Here is a card I made with a triple purpose.  I knew I wanted to join VC Rocks bloghop which this month is featuring the Big Shot (my favorite tool).  Also my best friends son, who is in Cub Scouts, was crossing over from Wolf to Bear. Finally,  it was also his birthday.  We also bought him a real Build a Bear with a Scout outfit with shorts & hiking boots-part of the inspiration for the card as well. (Wish I thought to have taken a picture of that as well.  My daughter named the bear Scout LOL)

I used the Build A Bear die and the Bear Essentials die for the clothing; along with the Bear Boy sizzlits for the hat.  I used a Chocolate Chip marker for the little paw print.  The cupcake is from the level one hostess set; colored and cut out & raised with a dimensional.  The flowers and butterfly were stamped with a  sale-a-bration set.

Please hop on over to Marisol Gutierrez's blog for some more really cool Big shot ideas.

Until next time.

Punch Swap Reveal

Here is the finished card that I made for a die cut/ punch swap on VCRocks.  I showed you a sneak peak of the background.  Here is the completed card.  I used Basic Black and Real Red cardstock for the layers, and the DSP is from the hostess pack.

The lady bug is Basic Black and Real Red.  I used circle punches and a crop-a-dial for her spots.  The flower is Daffodil Delight punched with the small oval punch with a Chocolate Chip center.

The verse if from Great Friend, punched with the small oval and the scallop oval punch for the layer.  A little grosgrain ribbon and there you have a simple sweet little card.
